For most people, repairing or replacing your own roof is not an option. You're going to need to get a professional in there. We've all heard the horror stories of a roofing job gone bad and the pain and aggravation that, that poor homeowner had to go through.
It's really important that you choose a professional experienced and trustworthy contractor to work with. Referrals are often a good way to find quality contractors.

Ask your neighbors about their experience if they've had roofing work done.

Evaluate their web presence and look for independent reviews by homeowners that have done business with them.

Check certifications, for example, here at Roofer Orlando LLC all our roof estimators are HAAG certified and TRI certified, truly roofing experts.

Always look for a contractor who has been in business for a number of years in your community and can give you an extensive reference list.
But, don’t just leave it at that, call some of these references to confirm that they had a positive experience and that they've received good support after the install. You should also ask for a copy of their business license and insurance certificate. Almost all states require insurance and many states require a state license to do roofing work.

In the end, you need to feel comfortable that the contractor you choose is truly interested in doing the best job for your home.
